Peace and the Thousand Doves

"I recently read the book Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. It tells the moving story of a Japanese girl who fought the “atom bomb disease” with great spirit and bravery. It was really sad that she died before she could make a thousand origami cranes that might grant her wish and make her well. The atom bombs dropped by the United State at the end of World War II caused horrible destruction and death in Japan. It shouldn’t have happened and shall never happen again. I don’t understand why people still make and keep nuclear weapons. I wish all the nuclear weapons be dropped deep into the Earth core, melted and destroyed. I wish a thousand doves (well, I couldn’t draw that many on my art work), like the thousand paper cranes, would bring true peace to the world: no fight and no war. People and animals live happily together on the beautiful Earth planet."
