The Smell of Death

Art for Peace picture

"As mushroom clouds are always noticed during the explosion of the atomic bombs, I've decided to blend them with a face of a child suffering from the war in order to emphasize the tragedies that have been created by these dangerous weapons. While enormous amount of people lose their beloveds during the war, I believe their sadness and pain have transformed to become part of the smoke; continuously expanding under the darken sky. Different from the mushroom cloud that's made of pieces of transparent papers which overlap each other, the textured background is composed of acrylic paint and modeling paste to depict the drastic conditions after the explosion of atomic bombs. In all, the severe damages caused by the war should not be forgotten, yet, it's time for people to move on as the smell of death has been buried under the deepest part of people's minds."
